How do we collect your data?
Some data is collected when you provide it to us, for example when you send us an email. Other data is collected automatically by our host’s IT systems when you visit the website. This is mainly technical data (e.g. browser, operating system or time of access).
What rights do you have regarding your data?
You have the right at any time to receive information free of charge about the origin, recipient and purpose of your stored personal data. You also have the right to request the correction, restriction of processing or deletion of this data, and the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

Withdrawal of your consent
Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can withdraw consent you have already given at any time by sending us an informal email. The lawfulness of the data processing carried out until the withdrawal remains unaffected.
Right to data portability
You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in fulfilment of a contract handed over to you or a third party in a common, machine-readable format.
Objection to advertising emails
We hereby object to the use of contact data published as part of our imprint obligation for sending unsolicited advertising and information material.
3. Data collection on our website
Cookies and fonts
This website does not set cookies and does not use any analytics or tracking services. The fonts used (Josefin Sans and Lato) are loaded from our own server; no connection to Google servers is made.
Server log files
The hosting provider automatically collects and stores information in server log files that your browser transmits automatically. These are:
- browser type and version
- operating system
- referrer URL
- host name of the accessing computer
- time of the server request
- IP address
This data is not combined with other data sources. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; we have a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and security of our website.
Contact form and email
If you send us enquiries via the contact form or by email, your details, including the contact data you provide, will be stored by us to process the enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent. Processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR), which you give by ticking the checkbox when submitting the contact form and can withdraw at any time. The form is forwarded by email to the board via our host’s server; no data is passed on to third parties. The data remains with us until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent or the purpose for storing it no longer applies. Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.
Online membership application
If you apply for membership via our website, we send your details (name, date of birth, address, phone number, email address, bank details and any message) to the board by email as a completed membership application. We use the data to process your application and manage your membership (e.g. fee invoices, donation receipts, invitations to general meetings). The legal basis is your consent and the performance of the membership (Art. 6 (1) (a) and (b) GDPR). The data is stored for the duration of the membership and thereafter in accordance with statutory retention periods. If the application is not accepted, we delete the data once it has been processed.
Requesting a donation receipt
If you request a donation receipt via our website, we send your name, address and phone number and/or email address to the board by email. We use the data to issue and send the donation receipt and to contact you if we have questions. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time. Copies of issued receipts are kept in accordance with tax retention obligations (Art. 6 (1) (c) GDPR).
Embedded videos (Vimeo and YouTube)
On some pages we embed videos from Vimeo (Vimeo Inc., New York, USA) and YouTube (Google Ireland Limited, Dublin, Ireland). The videos are only loaded when you click “Play video”. Only then is a connection made to the provider’s servers and data (including your IP address) transferred. We embed YouTube videos in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and Vimeo videos with the “Do Not Track” parameter. The legal basis is your consent given by clicking (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR).
